Motif
My friend has bought a cottage in
a small village and he wanted to equip it with old rural
furniture. As a joke I decided to give him as
a birthday present old furniture in a bottle. In
a small pub I had seen suitable furniture.
I outlined this furniture and began to look for
a suitable bottle.
Suitable bottle
For construction of the furniture I chose a bottle
of Zubrovka liqueur because the bottle seemed to be suitable. The
bottle didn't have malformation of appearance and it had
a straight bottom. The only thing that seemed to be
a problem was the inscription on the back of the bottle.
I decided to cover the inscription with the decoration.
Model and its components drawing
The model of the furniture was relatively difficult
and that's why I had to draw up very precise construction plan so that
the parts of the model fit together. The most important aspect was that
each part of the model must fit into the bottleneck.
Material
For construction of the model I chose common
material, i. e. wood. I usually use beech wood and
plywood. In principle I don't use plastic parts.
Production of the parts necessary for the
construction of the model
Almost the whole model is hand-made. The basic
tools are coping saw and circular saw. After many years of practice
with modelling I was able to carve the parts of the model very
precise so that it wasn't necessary to shape them further with the
exception of chamfering with the emery-cloth.
Colouring, varnishing
I usually tint completed models with the mahogany
stain and varnish with the varnish lacquer.

Completion before construction of the
model into the bottle
Before I put the model into the bottle
I must complete the model rough and check if the separate
parts of the model fit together.

Tools
I usually use tweezers and special tools.
I shape some tools, in particular tools for gluing, in line
with the model.
Glues
For gluing of a model I use mostly dispersive and
minute glues.
Cleaning of the bottle
After the construction of the model in the bottle
I clean the bottle with the glass-cleaning agents. The bottle
should have got.
